Re: Firefox CPU Usage

I switched to Firefox from Safari some time ago because it seemed to be
compatible with more sites and because of the add-ons available. The
down side is that it appears to be a CPU hog. The most recent load
runs at 100% even on a static, text only page. Whenever it is running,
so is the fan on my PB G4 :-(
Anyone else notice this?
That sounds excessive, but with several dozen of tabs open and some
Flash (gods I f**king hate Flash) I hit 20% CPU usage with Firefox 3.0.9
on my Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz extreme iMac. So maybe 100% is what the same
usage would require on a gG4?
My advice is to install the Flashblock addon and only allow Flash on a
case-by-case basis or for sites that require it (ugg). I'll bet that
cuts your CPU usage.
