Anyone Using Beejive on iPod Touch?

When I receive an IM on my iPhone I get an audible notification. When
my wife receives an IM on her iPod Touch she gets no notification.

I truly hope that I'm missing something in the instructions, because an
IM client that requires the recipient to wear earphones to receive
notification is useless to us.
