For some reason, Mail got fouled up when I first tried to configure it

It would help for you to explain exactly *how* Mail is "fouled up". It's
possible - even probable - that we can help you straighten out the
problem if you'll just explain the symptoms to us.

It's complicated, but I have an account to my ISP se up, and it cannot read mail. It starts, saying 78 messages to read, but then gets stuck on msg #38, forever. I have no problems reading my mail using Eudora or web mail on my ISP. (I have set the mail server to leave messages on the server for 5 days after they are read, so I can access them also on the road using web mail.)

It's weird, I cannot see an obvious solution, nor could tech support at my ISP.

I will follow others' advice to set up a new user, and will also try deleting my preferences file, that I missed before.

Thanks.
