Hi, all.

I have two directories, each containing thousands of files. For each
of the files in one directory, I want to determine:

1. Does it exist in the other directory?

2. If it exists, is it a byte-for-byte exact copy?

3. Is its file creation date similar?

I suppose it's possible from the command line. Does anyone have a
solution? I'm prepared to use Windows if necessary.

If you don't have "TextWrangler" get a copy (it's free).

If you drag a *closed* folder into a TextWrangler text window, you'll
get a list of what's in the folder. Do that for each of the folders you
want to compare, and then tell TextWrangler to compare the two windows
(Search/Compare Two Front Documents).

Same brilliant thing in BBEdit, as most would guess.
