By the way, we couldn't get my daughter's printer to respond to the laptop when I was visiting her, either, even though I can use her wireless network, but it could be her M$ software hates Macs.
Probably the last.:-) - But it might also be that ytou're system hasn't got the drivers for her brand/model of printer. - I know from others that printing through a wireless MS setup can be quite a nightmare for a Mac user. I know nearly nothing about wireless and won't have it inside my doors, if I in any way can avoid it... - But maybe there is Mac printer software delievered along with her printer model, then it should do just installing the Mac part onto your laptop, and then let your Airport search and connect to her access point. - In OS X -> 'System Preferences' -> 'Printing&Fax', you need to add the new printer and of course select it for printing.

OK, I'll save this, too, for Thanksgiving vacation, but (A) my Airport doesn't go along, just the laptop and its power supply,

Eh? - are you connected to the external Airport base with a cable from your laptop and not wireless? - AFAIK nearly all MB/MBPs have built-in Airport for connectig to wifi points, so it should just do for you to let your laptop search for wireless connections at her place. - One thing I remember is that you might have to enter a manual DNS address in your network controlpane when connecting to Win-wireless accesspoints...

and (B) I strongly suspect she doesn't have Mac printer software 8-)

Maybe /she/ hasn't.:-) - but most printer manufacturers that support Mac are delievering a Mac driver install - either as a part of a combined install CD or as a seperate CD. - And then it's just to find this out and install the drivers...

But anyway, the G4 now has the new Mozilla and it's telling me I should get Firefox 8-) I'm also not sure what to do with the "fix", and it's time for supper anyway. I also increased the print monitor's memory as well as the new Mozilla's as you suggested.

Just read the 'read me' file accompagned with the 'fix' and follow the instructions. This fix is a library that has to be put into one of the folders in the WaMCom folder and it'll replace an existing lib file.

cheers, Erik Richard
