I use Skype on my 24" imac (2.4Gz intel Core 2 Duo) all the time -
conference calls (audio) with up to 8 people at a time, and single
audio and video calls. Talk and video to both mac and PC clients both
here in Australia and overseas. It works very well.

Thanks for the info. I have the same computer you have. Can you tell me
what version of Skype you're running?

Usually if its not behaving then you should firstly look at the speed
of your network connection. Its broadband only for video and really
needs to have good up/download. You don't mention what OS and computer
you are trying to use. Are the dropped calls audio or video?

I am thinking perhaps my network connection is to blame. I have Comcast
cable internet. It's the best internet available here. I think the speed
is like 6MB/1.5MB. But it seems there have been a few stability issues
with the connection although I can't be certain. If I had to guess I'd
say I'm probably getting some intermittent packet loss. Which of course
would be the absolute hardest thing to get them to fix.

The dropped calls are of all varieties. Even audio-only between me and
one other person. And I mean dropping every few minutes.

Right now I'm so frustrated with trying to get something cross-platform
to work reliably, I'm thinking of just saying screw it and switching to
Windows on my iMac. Although I realize if it's a network connection
issue, that won't help things. I think there are exponentially more
choices if one is going from Windows to Windows. And probably much more
reliability as well.

HI Elden

My version is 2.7.0.330

Looks like you are on your way with no end of advice - hope the direct
connection does the trick.

Nigel
