Thanks for the answers. This looks like a better place to ask
questions or resolve problems than
Mac support where reading scripts off a trouble data base seems to be
as good as it gets. OK sometime but sometime it's real bad in terms of
solving problems.

Welcome to comp.sys.mac.*! At last, a new user who isn't posting through
Google Groups. Most of us do try to provide constructive, on-point
answers, though be warned that some of us can get cranky from time to
time. The best way to get a useful response is to do a little homework
(like a rudimentary Google search, either of the entire Internet or of
Usenet) so you don't miss an easy or obvious answer. Then carefully
frame the question stating exactly what you know and what you want
answered (just like you did in your original post on this topic. I hate
to be pedantic, but unfortunately there are lots of Usenetter who don't
observe this basic rule. They usually get what they deserve, but they
certainly don't like it.

Here is a handy link to search previous Usenet posts so you don't get
the 'Hey, Bozo, we just answered that last week' response:

I often wish there were a mandatory FAQ with information like this that
every new user to Usenet would have to read and dismiss before
continuing to their first news group. : )

Send responses to the relevant news group rather than to me, as
E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM
filter. Due to Google's refusal to prevent spammers from posting
messages through their servers, I often ignore posts from Google
Groups. Use a real news client if you want me to see your posts.
