On my Macbook Pro using Leopard, I notice from time to time that my
sound slider goes lower than where I have set it at the top of the
slider bar. I'm assuming it has something to do with energy savings
lowering the sound somehow but I can't find a setting that might control
this or cause this to happen.
I want the sound to stay all the way up unless I lower it manually
myself. Is that possible?

In settings so you know, the output shows all the way up.
In energy savings, I'm using the power adapter (don't use battery at all
with this laptop. It's hooked up to AC all the time)
The one thing I see in there that might have an effect on the sound
being lowered is that the box is checked to put the HD to sleep whenever
possible.
Could this be the cause????

I doubt that the energy settings have anything to do with the sound
level. More likely possibilities are: 1) you accidently hit the F4 key
2) if you are playing any games they may reset your sound level per
their preferences and not reset it when quitting.
