I have the same discussion with my clients all the time. They'll call me
and say the something is missing from the Dock. I talk them through
putting it back. They ask how it went missing in the first place. I see
they accidentally dragged it off without noticing. They say they don't
remember doing it. I point out that that's the nature of doing something
without noticing.
