Hmm. I'm not sure QT Pro _will_ do what you want. I can't see any way of
extracting the audio stream, or exporting it separately.
Streamclip certainly will: it will allow you to demux to a few different
formats. AIFF is probably the best for editing.
Warren, those menu items are slightly misleading. If, for example, the
VOB file is muxed mpeg-2 video and ac3 audio, choosing Demux to m2v and
m1a or Demux to m2v and aiff will, essentially, give you garbage for
the audio. On the other hand, if you have mp2, ac3, and aiff audio all
available in the muxed stream, choosing the one you want will demux the
audio applicable to that stream format.
Check out the Audio PID popup menu at the bottom of the window to see
(and select) the appropriate format.
