Oh I think I understand what you mean now. It sounds like you would
like to open and view a text clipping with a URL in it in the Finder,
and have the URL respond to being clicked by opening the URL in your
default web browser. Right?

things. No, I have not tried it.

Thanks to Gregory Weston too for understanding the idea
completely.

For me, clippings are a way of life and my finding (from this
group ages ago) that bits of text within them can be selected and
copied and pasted elsewhere was quite a big leap up in their
usefulness! I think Apple should implement my wish.

Btw, has Apple now made it more obvious in Leopard to select bits
of text within text clippings?
