Hi everyone. I just installed GarageBand 2 (iLife '05) to experiment
with. I'm using a Yamaha YPG625 kb connected via the usb midi port.

I can record the GarageBand Software Instruments just fine with the kb as
a controller. But I can't figure out how to record the different sounds
from the keyboard itself. If I select Real Instruments I can't enable the
track. Does this mean that to use the build in sounds on the Yamaha (or
any other kb), I have to go through the audio input, rather than the
midi-usb? Wouldn't seem to make sense to me.
If so, does a later version of GB "fix" that?
Thanks,
MK
If you select Real Instrument, then you have to use audio input or a
firewire/usb mixer.
