Anyone else cheesed off about FileMaker's incompatability with Leopard - and

Or about their stated intent that no updates will be issued for any version
prior to FileMaker 9? Or that FileMaker mobile will be dropped December 19
(with support to end June 18, 2008)?
Hmmm ... now that mobile is no longer in the picture (which is the reason I
use FileMaker), maybe it's time to take another look at the MacOS X version
of Panorama ... which I've licenced, but never used. <sigh>
You should of course do what you think best for your own needs.
I don't use FM Mobile, so that does not concern me directly. I have no
idea how large is the user population for FM Mobile. Evidently FileMaker
thought it not large enough to continue supporting it. I reckon FM
Mobile will still run just like it does now.
I find FileMaker to be a very powerful and easy-to-use tool for
building complex relational databases.
I will make the move to Leopard pretty soon, but I am in no hurry. By
the time I make the move, FileMaker will have released the compatibility
update. How long a wait? 2 or 3 weeks? Big deal.
Meanwhile, the incompatibilities concern IWP and use of other languages.
The update will fix those.
Earlier versions: They may well run OK on Leopard. They certainly will
run just like they do now on the platforms now running them.
