I am SO close to just killing all posts from Google Groups, it's not
even funny...

Do it. It feels good. ;)

Part of what's stopping me from doing this is the lack of a way to do
it in Unison, my preferred Usenet client. Hopefully Panic will improve
their rules support soon - I've requested it!

I don't do Mac, but as I (very roughly) outline on my Usenet Improvement
Project site for Thunderbird, which is laughably weak at filtering news
posts, one can run a local news server that *does* have decent filtering
capabilities. That local server sits between your remote servers and
your news client. You configure it to make your news runs to your
external feed(s) and you set it up as a server on your news client(s). I
don't know what applicaitions are available for Macs; I only know
Windows and Linux software. Because I wanted to use Thunderbird for the
groups at mozilla.org and still keep trugh in the second line of my sig,
I had to set up the servers leafonde/fetchnews (Linux) and Hamster
Playground (Windows) to do the filtering TB can't.

If you or anybody wants to feed me some killfile rule syntax for Mac
clients, I'll do my best to add those to my "Filters" pages. For that,
see the series of four short pages that starts with:
