password not recognized after "archive and install" (from panther to tiger)

Using my original Panther installation CD's, I did an "archive an
install" operation on my ibook G4 ( with Tiger on it). After
rebooting, my user's password didn't work no more. I'm desperate. Who
can help me ? I'm a newbie.
