I am thinking seriously about purchasing a mini Mac. I come from the
Microsoft WIndows world but am very interested in moving to a Mac. I
don't want to spend a whole lot of money though, that's why I'm
interested in the mini. My basic needs are web browsing and email plus
I would like to develop a website for the 4th grade class that my
daughter teaches. I've been to the Apple store numerous times and
checked out the iWeb software and it seems like it would meet my needs
for developing the website. My question relates to publishing the
website. I am not interested in joining .Mac.
Why not? I joined .Mac and for just this kind of reason, iWeb, plus my ability to get to mail anywhere on planet Earth with any browser or computer, or my Addressbook, or all the jillions of bookmarks I have in Safari: well it's worth the price.
The main utility to .Mac for me was the sublime ease of the iWeb--dotmac connection.
Rather I would like to publish the website to my Road Runner account where I already have web
access. From playing around with iWeb, I wasn't real sure if I could
do this. I saw an option for publishing to .Mac and also to a folder.
How would I get the site I develop out on Road Runner. I can FTP files
to Road Runner; will iWeb let me create the site and ftp them to Road
Runner?
I don't know, but we'll find out together. I have iWeb, use it, and have a roadrunner account with disk space I'm not using, so I ought to figure the process out.
Any help would be appreciated, y'all...
