In my new Photoshop and Indesign ÇS3, my color management isn't working.

When I click on File > Print > Color Management, that popup window won't

I'm not sure what you are trying to do, but the 'pop up' you are talking
about isn't part of Photoshop and never was. What you describe is the
dialog of your printer driver, which it comes up after you pressed the
'Print' button in Photoshop.

I tried downloading an installing some ICC color profiles from the Epson
Web site that are compatible with the printer (an Epson R2400 inkjet),
but I still can't get access to that Color Management popup, even after
restarting.

I installed the profiles in Applicattions and when that didn't work, in
my hard drive folder, as I've done before.

Profiles shouldn't be installed in the Applications folder and also not
in the root of your hard drive. You should put them in
Home/Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder.

Thanks.

I finally got it to work.

I had downloaded the wrong driver and was confused about the setup of Photoshop CS3 because the items in the Print dialog box have been rearranged and I made a bunch of other mistakes, like jamming the paper in the printer so badly on my first try loading big, thick paper that I thought I'd have to take the printer to a repair shop. (I only have to make the same mistakes a hundred times before I figure it out, but eventually I figure things out.)

I also got stuck because the new and improved Epson printer driver requires me to choose "Roll - Manual" to print on 13- by 19-inch *** paper. I'm not kidding.

In the Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer manual, in the chapter called "Loading Special Paper in the SINGLE *** Guide" it says, "Before printing, select Manual - ROLL as the paper source setting within the Paper Size menu (macintosh) in your printer software.) Why I should have to choose "Roll" to print on a single "***" I don't know. It confounded me trying to figure out that printing enigma.

It was only after I did that that Velvet Fine Art Paper was black and therefore available as a paper choice.

I guess the guys at Epson who design the printer drivers are still as retarded as ever.

But the colours are glorious on that eight-colour printer! The output is superb because he gamut is bigger with that printer because of the new K3 inks.
