Not what you are asking but ... buy her plenty of RAM and don't bother
quiting! Is she really going to be using heavy duty apps which use
resources even when not at the front? The OS does remarkably well at
redistributing memory. I know someone who doesn't know when an
application is still loaded, even pointing out the little black triangle
in the Dock didn't really register. Despite this he gets by just leaving
stuff open.
