video sharing over LAN via iTunes?

I'm having trouble sharing a video playlist over my work LAN via
iTunes. the list appears in the Shared node in iTunes, but hitting
play on a video results in nothing. Not even a player window
appearing.

On a PC, Windows XP SP2 all hotfixes. Core2 Duo processor and 2GB
memory.

Any idea what I'm missing? (Besides a Mac, that is?)
