Hi everyone!
Does anyones know of a Mac OSX 10.4 app that rips a video from a DVD
and converts directly to DV and also that rips the Ac3 audio track
into 6 discrete .wav files?
If not, how would you accomplish this workflow?
Thanks!
I'm not aware of a "one-stop" solution. The process I would follow is:
1) Rip to hard disk using MacTheRipper (or DVD2OneX).
2) Feed the VOB file(s) to MPEGStreamclip for conversion to DV. This
process converts the AC3 audio to PCM, which is AIFF on the Mac (WAV is
Windows "wrapper" for PCM audio)
3)iTunes or QuickTime Pro can convert AIFF to WAV, if you really have
to have WAV.
(The "6 discrete .wav files" part baffles me -- do you want it split by
timecode or something else? Any decent audio editor can accomplish the
splitting task.)
