I've been trying to do some modest photo retouching with photoshop
elements, and I've been running into a weird error. I've got a few
specs that I'm trying to cover over with matching spots, so I use the
lasso select to copy and paste over them.
thing, this gets the immediate matching surrounding and is
awfully quick, you will need only o option click nearby for each
bit, No big memory requirements.
The problem is that after 3 or 4 copy-paste operations, Elements
simply stops copying the lasso. I lasso a new area and hit clover-C and
it tosses up a dialog that "no bits are selected" even though that's
clearly not the case. Any idea how to clear that condition (other than
stopping and restarting)?
How much memory have you got? RAM?
Another weakness seems to be that the undo buffer is much muchPerhaps it is limited by app, in PS proper it is settable in

preferences and this sort of thing is usually related to the
memory capacity of your machine.
You can manage limitations by using the purge command. also
And, one more thing, virtual memory, scratch disk, hard disk
based workings by PS are important and you may be running low on
free space. You can usually assign disk space in order, primary,
if this runs out, a secondary volume etc... Have you set this in
preferences. I advise you to set aside a goodly bit of a volume
if not a complete volume for this work. All, of course, depends
on the extent of your work.
I very much advise to stick with your PS for a while.
