Well, okay then, I'm "fortunate" compared to the hundreds of people who work on the exact same product, many of whom probably contribute more than I do, but who choose to do so unpaid in their spare time due to some combination of (a) a strong belief that all software should be free (as in beer, and as in speech), (b) a strong desire to bring that product to people in developing countries who can't afford to pay for it, and (c) the sheer fun of it.
