Hm, do you have Virtual Memory turned ON? - How big is your HD?

This is with MacDrawPro (used it for many years).
OS 9.1 on B&W G3
I bumped the memory way up too for the app.
and have more ram than before too.
Seems like this happned a long time ago, but now I can't figure what to fix/adjust.

At first...
-Turn off Virtual Memory, if it's on.

-Delete the Finder prefs, Mac OS prefs and System prefs files from the Preferences folder and reboot while rebuilding the desktop - COM+ALT during boot process.

-Set the memory allocation to MacDraw pro to 30mb in min. size and 45mb in wanted size. - Your MacDraw pro is probably a 68k version. But if it's the latest ver. 1.5 it should be both a 68k, FAT or PPC, Then I'll recommend to install either the FAT or PPC.

-If MacDraw insists, delete the MacDraw prefs files and restart once more.

-Check your Extensions folder that you _DONOT_ have the 'ObjectSupportLib' there, if so - just simply delete it. OSL can cause severe damages on Mac OS 9.x.

The problem might also be an error in the Directory file's Extend B-tree registration nodes (B-tree leaves 1-30).

So if you have Norton Utilities 6.x or systemWorks 1.0 or 3.0, run DiskDoctor + SpeedDisk with full optimization. - Or even better, - if you have DiskWarrior 2.1 run it from the CD and build a new directory file.

I'll also strongly recommend you to upgrade to at least OS 9.2.1 - better to 9.2.2. The 9.2.x is so much faster and stable than 9.1. You can download the 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 from the Apple support sites.

Mac OS 9.2.1, http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120030
Mac OS 9.2.2, http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75186
NOTE. Be sure to download and install the proper language version. - e.g., if you're running US English, download and install the US English version, if you're running UK English, download and install the UK English version, and if you're running IE (Z) english version, download and install the IE/Z English version.
NOTE2. The IE/Z version also contains the specific Canadian version as well, so if you're running the Canadian English, do use the IE/Z English versions.

Cheers, Erik Richard
