Yep, I saw Eudora could deal with 10.000 mails, filtering them to right mailboxes without a glitch.

I've seen Eudora gag and barf on half that much mail and destroy users' mailboxes in the process, and I've seen happen more than once. We can throw anecdotes back and forth all week if you want but I stand by my previous statement about not liking Eudora. All it takes is one (never mind more than one) incident that needs to be cleaned up like that to sour a mail admin.

When it's no longer possible to get NisusEmailer X 1.6.1, the next-best in my opinion is the QuickMail Pro - or with it's new name 'QuickMail Client' and 'QuickMail Office'. These two are very much extended towards the older 'Pro' version with a much extended filtering system as well.

I haven't tried the newer versions on OS X 10.4.x, but the bit older ones worked really fine on OS X 10.3.2-10.3.7, and the classic version is the next-fastest email client I ever has tried. The link is to both the client and office versions.

I decided to wait for Eudora 7 (I _need_ unicode) but Mail.app really, really driving me nuts here. Especially forcing me to run a huge indexing system to search for mail.. Anyway... It is Claris E Mailer right? Apple bought it and made it Mail.app I heard.

You heard wrong. Mail.app is an updated version of the NeXTStep Mail.app.

Nah... Ilgaz isn't that much far away from the truth. - The idea in the NextStep Mailer is also based on the idea and the type of engine in ClarisEmailer - exactly like MS OutlookExpress is a poor 'replikate' - or 'plagiate' of ClarisEmailer 2.0v1.
