I will -hopefully- very soon get a MacBook Pro (2.16GHz, 1GB). But I am

I am considering:
* Get Office for Mac

* or a more general solution go for Parallels Desktop

Has anyone any comment on either solution ?

Just buy Mac Office 2004. Running the Mac version of Powerpoint on a
MacBook Pro is not a big deal; it works the same as it does on a
traditional Windows laptop.

You can go to Microsoft's web site and download a trial version of
Office 2004 to verify that it does what you need.

But, by all means, try the demo of Keynote first.

I do about 95% of my "Powerpoint" work in Keynote and then export it
back to a PPT file. If you use both of these programs side by side it is
hard to imagine preferring PPT. You can also export a Keynote file to
Quicktime, which gives you the visual appeal of the Keynote presentation
and can be played on a Windows machine. Exporting back to PPT from
Keynote is more compatible (I've never had any problems), but you lose
some of the beautiful parts of the Keynote presentation.
