The Toast options described above are for data discs. None of them

An mp3 disk is a data CD, and yes if you choose to burn an mp3 disk in
Toast and you want the disk to appear in iTunes pick the Mac Only or Mac
& PC options.
An "MP3 disk" _is_ a data CD, but the disc that results from using a
random program to burn a bunch of MP3 files to a blank CD may be an MP3
disc or it may be an audio disc. Depends on how the program is
configured. Toast is fairly explicit about which one you're creating.
Other programs, less so. A Toast data disc, no matter what file system
is used, shouldn't look to iTunes any different from any other storage
device one might happen to mount.
Discs burned _from_ iTunes are, by default, audio CDs.
There is no default format that iTunes will burn the user has to choose
which format they want either an Audio CD or an MP3 CD.
That there's what we call a false statement. There is a default format
and an iTunes user never has to explicitly choose what format they want.
But if they don't, they will get audio CDs.
Check iTune's
preferences under the Advance tab and then click the Burning tab, here
you will see that you can choose which type of disk you want to burn.
Yes, and on installation one of those choices will be selected (them
being radio buttons and all) even if the user has never opened the
preferences panel. That's the default and the default is audio discs.

"Congurutulation!!!" - The subject line on some spam I received recently.
I have no idea what it means, but it's such a cool "word" (by which I mean
pronouncable sequence of letters) regardless.
