Okay, you appear to have tried everything you could related to the
burner and ATA bus, so let's focus elsewhere for now. How much RAM is
installed? What's the capacity of your hard drive, how much free space
is available, and have you run any disk repair utilities and repaired
permissions?
512 Meg of RAM, and I beat it to death with a 5-pass overnight run of
Memtest; no errors.
I have a 50 Gig SCSI drive, with 35 Gig free. When I formatted it, I
"zeroed" it, which I understand remaps any bad sectors.
I have run Applejack recently.
