Now when it comes to Mac issues I'm a novice since afte 15 years of
Windows I've become a Macman! I bought an iMac G5 but haven't
figured out how to burn either CDs or DVDs although I have iDVD,

programme like Nero to burn disks? There seems to be a burning
utility but haven't figured that yet either! Help please. Thanks.
It depends upon what _kind_ of CD or DVD you're trying to burn. The
Finder will burn data CDs and DVDs. iTunes will burn MP3 and Audio CDs.
iDVD will burn video DVDs you create.
If you want an all-in-one solution for burning various kinds of media,
Toast 7 Titanium is the (pretty much) undisputed choice.
