In my case, I have a 40 GB iPod photo and a PowerBook G4 DVI. I have
zero interest in buying a 5th Gen iPod because it doesn't support
Firewire and my laptop doesn't have USB 2.0 (and I don't want to buy a
USB 2.0 Cardbus adapter just for a new iPod). I don't care how much more
video grunt they put in the next model. Without Firewire or another
connection method faster than USB 1.1, it will be too inconvenient for
me to use, until I eventually buy a new computer which has USB 2.0.

I would love to have a full-fledged iPod Nano, but I'm sticking with my
Shuffle because I still have the slow USB. My Cube works great and has
two Firewire ports. I'm not going to give it up just for USB
2.0.

Actually, a Nano isn't too bad. Because the maximum size is only 4 GB,
it doesn't take forever to fill it over USB 1.1. It would obviously be
better with USB 2.0, but I've mostly filled a 4 GB Nano on my PBG4
without cursing too much.

It just takes way too long if you have a full size iPod, a 20GB+ music
collection, and only USB 1.1.
