Moving from OS 9 to OS X; how to port MT-NW files?

I've been a happy user of MT-NW for a long time, and YA-NW before that.
I'm finally migrating to OS X, and I just got and installed MT-NW there
too.
Now I need to know how to migrate my settings files, subscription lists,
and filters from the old version to the new one. That's a lot of stuff
to have to re-enter from scratch.
I'm not a UNIX guru by any means, but I'm something more than a total
newbie, and I'm good at following instructions.
Could it be that the files are "identical" in structure and all I need
to do is copy them to some magic directory and then rename them? Or even
better, is there any chance I could point the new MT-NW to the existing
files and have it use them "jointly" (but never simultaneously) with the
older version?
Thanks
Isaac
