OWA works with my Entourage 2004 but not with Mail 2 (Tiger)

Probably wasted too much of my life on this already, but would like to
use Spotlight on my emails.  The only way I can access corporate
exchange over the internet is via OWA.  Entourage does this
succesfully.  Problem is that I can't get Mail 2 to do same.
Settings in Entourage are:
Name: My Name
Email address: my.name@xxxxxxxxxxxx
Account id: 987654321
Domain: idomain
Password: ***********
Save Passoword in Keychain: tick
Exchange Server: https://mail.mydomain.com/exchange
This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL): tick

All is fine and dandy.

Now try Mail 2:

Description: Exchange Account
Email address: my.name@xxxxxxxxxxxx
Full Name: My Name
Incoming Mail Server: ??? only use OWA so :
https://mail.mydomain.com/exchange ??
User Name: 987654321
Password: ***********
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): try None, can always use an ISP's later
once I start getting incoming mail.
Outlook Web Access Server: https://mail.mydomain.com/exchange or
mail.mydomain.com/exchange
 or https://mail.mydomain.com/exchange

All I get is an error:

The Server error encountered was: The Server
"https://mail.mydomain.com/exchange cannot be contacted port 993

Is there something I am missing here?  Given that OWA is my only
option. Would be more than pleased to be told, "do it this way
stupid!!"   Thanks..
