Say I have two relations, each of which contain a number of fields. A "true"
relational database system, for example, would let me spontaneously derive a
new relation based upon there being a commonality of values in selected
fields from each of those relations. In such as FileMaker and 4th Dimension
this is specified during the design of the application. In a "true"
relational database this is specified at the moment of action. I hope this
makes sense. :-)
