Sorry, but the proverbial NDA requires me to protect the source of the
assertion. Broad hint: the source is /very/ authoritative when speaking
about Apple hardware.

Do you think Apple doesn't know that?

"...won't do *anything* to preclude that" sounds like a promise to me.
While it may not be a specific promise that one will be able to install
and run the Windows operating system on a Mactel, it strongly implies
that one will be able to do so. If apple doesn't do *anything* to
impede the installation, what do you think would prevent the
installation of Windows on an Intel-based computer, beyond the
vicissitudes of installing Windows?

Furthermore, as I think about how foolish it would be for Apple to
release a Mactel on which it was difficult or impossible to install
Windows, the more I am convinced that Apple will take such positive
steps as are necessary to ensure that installing Windows on a Mactel is
no different from installing it on any other Intel-based computer --
they just won't talk about the steps they have taken.
