You don't think that people should ask for permission to use what you
create?

only if this creation has got enough originality. A rectangle with
rounded corners hasn't.

And when they choose to mimic a form that has no functional rationale?

LOL! Alan is actually>admitting< the mini is a "form that has no
functional rationale"?!

No. The circle on the base of the Mini is functional: a twist to remove
access port. The circle on the bottom of the Chrome Box is not
functional.

the chromebox circle provides the 'feet' of the box along with vents.

Actually Ed, it appears that it would be a 'foot' (singular, as
opposed to 'feet'), but even so, it is a foot 'ring' instead of a foot
'pad', which also serves to differentiate its overall design, and is
more efficient with material used on the device, which I believe makes
it more cost *efficient*, and efficacious. There are more visible
differences than similarities.

I'm not Ed.

Right. But but that doesn't explain its circularness. It could have
easily been any other shape and also serve that purpose.

True enough. Still doesn't prove 'copying' since Apple didn't design
the geometric shape know as "the circle".

No. The copying is using a circular design for no functional reason.
