Having 3 Macs in this household, one of them (a late 15 inch 2007 iMac)
just wouldn't work. This Mac belongs to my son and most of his pics and
music were backed up, so no biggy. He had to spend a lot of time
reinstalling WoW, but we won't get into this.
He absolutely wanted Lion (his friend has it and he wanted it too-latest
version of OSX and all).
Since the Mac was non responsive, I couldn't download Lion from Apple's
servers so this is how I spent a couple of hours trying to install
something that should have been easy as pie from the copy I installed on
my computer (on an external drive, not using it as my main OS, I'll skip
this lousy eye candy, let's-change-things-around-because-we-ca poor
excuse of a paid upgrade).
Note that this whole process was and felt extremely odd. I've been
running Macs for ages and this almost felt like I was pirating a copy,
when in fact I wasn't.
The whole process is depicted more than adequately here:

What a joke. What if there were only 1 computer in the household and it
became unresponsive? How much easier would it have been to drop a
restore DVD and have the problem fixed within minutes with a few clicks,
like in the good old days when Apple wasn't going out of its facking way
to make things harder for people.
In the meantime, real issues such as slow finder copying, no option to
inform an email sender that his/her email has been read and other
annoyances have been persistent since OSX 10.1 .
Nashton is confused by the concept of burning a DVD disc, news at 11.

How's he gonna burn a DVD. No Macs come with them anymore.
