Actually, income before tax for HP has been running around $3 billion

Apple's making three times as much on less revenues.
And you're glad to pay...
I'd say HP found the sweet spot for price. I went to every big box and
electronics store trying to find one of them for $99 or $129 (Office
Depot). They sold out quiiiickkkk this morning. It was like Black
Friday.
Riiiiight.
When you sell a product for less than it cost to manufacture (I'm
assuming you're talking about the TouchPad here) it's pretty easy to
price it at a lot less than the competition...
...but as an ongoing strategy it sucks.
we care about ourselves and our wallets. Picking up a Touchpad with
WebOS (much better than iOS) for $99 is AWESOME for the consumer.
Really? How much effort do you think HP will be putting into fixing bugs?
You'll literally pay 8x as much for a product that doesn't do as much
No. One "literally" doesn't; not even close.
or even have a real browser simply because you cannot be bring
yourself psychologically to purchase a non-Apple product. I guess
you'll never be smart enough to figure out.
