I know that all too well. My wife looks over the charges from the clinic
and has found over charges or charges that should have been included in the
office visit. Even the insurance company in this case was on our side. What
I've found too often is that a lot of doctors are brought into these clinics
and their job seems to be to get as much money as possible for those that
have invested into these clinics and not focusing, like you say, on patient
care. But at least you can get in to see a doctor and not have to wait a
year to see one like it happens in Canada.

From folks I know in Canada, that is generally a US myth. Their health care
is actually pretty quick... at least no worse than the months of waiting you
might end up with in the US.

Not according to a recent article published in a local newspaper. But then...
looking on the other side of the coin... could it be that the US media is
controlled? In that there is resistance to this reform.

I am sure there are examples - many of them - where any large system has
failed. If you collect a few of those and present them as the norm you can
make any large system look bad.

I noticed that the insurance industry isn't all that happy about it.

Of course not... look at how their profits have gone up and up and up...

Yes. And looking closer, the Insurance industry has quite a bit of income
from subscribers. Something that the central banks want to get their hands
on... a big pile of money. I also found it rather scary when the CEO of GM
was told by Obama that he should just step down. And he did. What is going
on here??? It almost looks like fascism.

No matter what his plans are, and the Dems in Congress, they are being so
ineffective I am not sure it matter.
It destroys the concept of free enterprise. More and more intrusion
into private ownship of business by the
Gov is the beginning of the destruction of freedom.

Beginning? Business and government have been in bed together for a long,
long time. The Republicans want the businesses to "wear the pants", the
Democrats want government to - though since they are almost fully funded by
businesses that is a hard thing to do.

The US Constitution talks about *inalienable* rights, but then says that
aliens do not have those rights... and corporations *do*. That is just
insane.

Correct. There are a lot of inconsistencies to be found out there. One of them, right off the top,
is the UCMJ (Military code of justice) that the US Supreme court won't touch. It is unconstitutional.
Then the supreme court also passed judgement on eminent domain where if a city or state finds that
it is more profitable to take a private residence for profit it is legal to do so. So by having the government
and large businesses working hand in hand we have fascism.

Don't get caught up, tho, in the left/right paradigm of democrat vs republican. It is nothing more than a dog
and pony show for the public that divides the people, when in fact the differences between the two are almost
nil. It is a false paradigm that for a very long time we were led to believe is real. The problem goes way back into the 30s, IRC,
where the state government selected our representatives to go to DC for the state. If that rep didn't do what was in the
best interest of the state, he/she was replaced with one that will. The well funded lobbying that took place back then
presented the view that this wasn't democratic and that the people should elect them. This essentially pulled the teeth
from the states and made it a lot easier to keep that rep well bribed and well paid to do their bidding. I don't recall if that
is a constitutional ammendment or not. If it isn't it should be repealed.
