that's some apples-oranges comparison dude... isupply provides
component breakdown costs, and yes, the appletv's component breakdown
is less than suggested retail. but that doesn't include the costs to
bring it to retail (when they sell direct) or the markdowns that
retailers get. isupply also estimates the breakdown costs for the
xbox to be below retail (and has for a couple years- it estimated it
to be initially a money loser). according to your 'logic,' there's no
way to know if appletv actually makes any money either, as apple lumps
it all in together with everything else.
