well, yes, like in that thread, you don't get antivirus. but i also
didn't pay for any separately and have not had any problems. don't be
an asshat, and you'll probably be ok. or just go get something free,
like avg.
no webcam or bluetooth on the gateway. given that i haven't used
either on the macbook, not a big deal. ironically, i used to use
bluetooth on the gateway all the time w/ a dongle, but the macbook
wouldn't use my phone as a bluetooth modem.
the big thing you get with the macbook is the better battery. but the
price delta doesn't justify it. especially when the gateway had
better specs in other areas- more memory, bigger hard drive, and a dvd
writer.
if you want *exactly* what the mac offers, and buy when they are brand
new, it's tough to beat the mac for price. if you something just a
bit different though, or you buy after the mac has been out for a
little bit (as little as a few weeks), the price advantage swings the
other way quickly and drastically.
