I'd say that using ECC memory would stop those random program crashes.
I've noticed that on DEC hardware, programs weren't crashing due to the extensive memory
checking done. When a program did crash, I always went to the system error log and
lo and behold it pointed to a bad memory chip, which the system then routed around that
memory address. Too bad that PCs can't do that yet.
This isn't 1985 anymore. Not needed.
How is an error occuring in memory causing a program crash not of any concern?
I'd say you don't know what you are talking about.
And also that the 1994 version of vaxstations had ECC memory.
And of course servers use ECC memory if they want superior fault free computing done.
Typical for NOC-monkeys not to know about this sort of stuff.
ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz. LOL.
Your stuck in the past with your talk of museum systems.
I don't think anyone knows what a NOC-Monkey is, I know I don't. So find something else. I haven't had to physically touch computer hardware (besides my work desktop/laptops) for my job in years.
