The words (not word!) I quoted
LIAR!!! If you had bothered to quote more than one you would
have put it into quotation marks like you did with the one
word you indeed did quote. You also forgot "He very likely has
burned thousands of DVDs". See the word "He"? You think I
refer to myself that way mr michael pervert glasser? See the
"when he finished" line? Still think I am referring to me mr.
michael child molester glasser?

This is enough for others to join my campaign to write the Dean
of Yavapai College of Michael Glasser (Snit's) abuses. I see
that the Snit Circus of Pathological Lies continues.
On the issue of using slower drives, back about 5 years ago, I
had a Memorex 52X CD Writer destroy my Command and Conquer GDI
disk during a game play read. It would whine up considerably
loud, then BANG! Disk was shattered into many pieces. Prior to
insertion, I didn't see any cracks they claimed were there
(unless they were microscopic).
I contacted Memorex and they told me the disk was defective not
the drive, hence why it shattered. Shortly after the 1 year
warranty, the write head went out on it. Next drive I purchased
was not Memorex but a brand named one (can't remember if Sony or
Toshiba) and slightly slower speed under 50X (48X I believe).
I think Apple did the right thing, I would rather prefer a stable
piece of equipment day in and day out even though with a slower
speed than one that is cutting edge and fails shortly after the
warranty.
