Re: Good Microsoft TV ad!

Saw a MS ad that addressed the real issue about Macs - price.

A woman was looking for a computer - total system - under $1000.

She went to the Apple store but there was only one computer under $1000
- Mac Mini - and she concluded she wasn't cool enough for a Mac.
Translation - Apple computers and products are overpriced for the
majority of buyers.

She settled for the lesser software of Windows and chose an HP laptop
because it fit her price range.

Moral of the story - drop your prices Apple and come up with models that
the mass market wants or you will remain, mainly, a company for
elitists, the wealthy and the super rich. Sure, there are a lot of
regular people with Apple products like iPods and even Macs or an
iPhone. But they saved and waited until they could afford it or they
are buying used/refurbished or keeping and refurbishing a vintage Mac
model.

At least for a while longer, that elitist market will remain to keep
Apple afloat. But, for how long?

That's the ad where you see the same guy walking by when she enters AND leaves the store, meaning she didn't go inside. She's also a member of the Screen Actor's Guild.

I think Apple is fine with being perceived as the higher quality brand for successful, educated people while the wallowing masses are stuck buying cheap crap that breaks in six months and runs Windows "Click to confirm that you want to do that" Vista.
