Nothing too swish, just internet, something to run an
office suite, and a few low to mid end games".

The biggest win for me, as a parent, in putting macs in for my kids to use is
they can't play games *as much* on them. They would probably like to spend
all their time playing the latest time sink for Windows, but can't.

Most kids who live in San Francisco who use PCs are embarrassed to
admit it.

No idea what kids in San Francisco have to do with this...

And not only that, the kids that use Macs can do more with their
computers than kids that use PCs.

No. The built-in software delivered with with Macs seems to do more than the
software bundles delivered with PCs. There's no technical reason for your
claim to be true outside of the "as shipped" bucket. Both platforms can do
any task you can buy or write code for.

When gaming is their thing they're using PS3.

You seem to enjoy making claims you can't back up.

Anyway - I say so what? So what if Macs are more expensive? Macs have
more value.

Many feel that way, obviously, as do I. The time-savings alone and peace of
mind not worrying daily about scanning and correcting issues with a household
with multiple computers running in it is worth it alone. Not everyone has
the luxury of spending money to circumvent maintenance problems though.

More importantly, I don't get asked 10-20 times a day to help "fix" or
"explain" how to do something on the wife's or kids' computers anymore. They
literally don't have tech support issues anymore. Win.
