I'm not lying, I am just repeating the often cited benefit ("feature")
that OS X doesn't require install/uninstall apps, that one just drags
apps to the Applications folder to install them and drag them to the
Trashcan to uninstall them.

Is that a "spin" that's "near a lie"? I

It's a few posts up. You said it doesn't work as described (and I don't
recall any Apple marketing describing whatever it is, installers or
related - lie 1). I asked how, and you said [it] doesn't remove all the
files and doesn't allow changes.

"It" is the operating system; the uninstall is a function of the
developer. Lie 2. And "it" does allow changes. Period. Lie 3. But maybe
only spin, if you really were uninformed or misinformed.

When discussing the OS, it is common to discuss not just the OS proper but
the general environment.

Umm, whatever. Either way, my point stands.

MacOS way: Remove application same way you installed it:
drag'n'drop

Windows way: Launch seperate program and navigate a list to
find the app, press uninstall, answer lots of question that
you have no way of knowing the answer for, dial a friend
asking him what to do. When done, the application folder is
still on your hard drive and you don't know what else is.

I have seen others make similar claims... and it is true, on OS X most
applications are "installed" or uninstalled via simple drag and drop. The
weakness that is not mentioned, though, is the inconsistency.

The "Uninstall <Application>..." item in the Application menu is one that I
hope Apple encourages... not that I expect them to. :)
