And why would that really matter, Steve? They could be all running

hardware sales, is doing more than well.
And if they are running Windows, do you really think they are running
it as their primary OS? Where's the logic behind this assertion?

It matters as this is viewed as a "win" over Microsoft, when it is in
reality a win over other *hardware* manufacturers like Dell or HP.

Logic? That the customer wants to run Windows.

Actually, it's more of a win over *Wintel*, not really MS. There is no
way people are buying Macs to run Windows on them most of the time.
Given that you're the one that made this assertion, care to prove it?

I don't think he _is_ asserting that. He is saying that if they do buy
Windows and install it on their computers via Boot Camp, _even if they
hardly use it_, then those sales are only an Apple 'win' versus Dell
et cetera, but not a win against Microsoft, since there wasn't an OS X
sale that *displaced* a Windows sale.

Now, he may still be asserting that most Mac purchasers do buy Windows
for their Macs - which may well not be true. And an OS X sale versus
no OS X sale is an improvement, even when it's matched by a Windows
sale.
