The price might be lower, but you are almost
guaranteed not to have any problems with a macbook pro, or any apple
product for that matter, they are more expenisve in all things they
do, but with them, the extra money you pay really has gone into a
quality product.

Dell had their time in the sun with batteries too there was one which
set a table cloth on fire and another that actually exploded burnign
the guy that was working on it..

I never heard of Dells falling apart, or having constant video flickering..
In fact, there was a falling apart MacBook at my brothers place last week.
The owner handed it to him and said, "this POS never worked. Take it and
use it for spare parts and get me something good." It was less that a year
old. Now he has a new Thinkpad.
