In photography, the adage is that the difference between a Pro and an
Amateur is the size of their trash can.  By this remark (MM allowing
others to see his unedited work), we can easily see that MM is nowhere
close to being a Pro.

You can't photography surfing if you use a Mac.
It's simply too inconvenient and time consuming.
If you are using Windows, it's much easier.

Particularly if one enjoys the headaches and time wasted from dealing
with color management in Windows.  ;-)

I'm going to go get a PC now, after this gem.

Of course, the rest of us are somehow supposed to be impressed because
MM went to Costa Rica back in 2006.  Haven't heard of any trips or
seen any pics since then.

This is just another area where tools think
up some lame excuse to purchase a PC rather
than a Mac, based on BS.  Pretty soon, you'll
be extolling the fact that some PCs have floppy
drives and that Apple *** the bed [sic] because
they don't offer that particular option.

And yet the hypocricy is that they cry "foul" when the lack of OS X as
a feature is mentioned.

I'm sorry you find the inability to transfer files
from my camera to my computer without all the extra
steps and hassle involved when using a Mac.

The extra step of hooking up a reader...while conviently forgetting
that his claim is for using an Internet Kiosk which very well may be a
cheap PC that doesn't have a card reader either.

As "Right Button" usual, the focus is on some trivially banal detail
while the rest of the vastly more significant elements of workflow are
ignored, such as data retention and colorspace management.

There's a reason 98% of the planet reject using Macs,
because they stink!

There's also a reason why roughly ~50% of high end digital photography
users choose the Macintosh platform.

FYI, the author is John Nack, who is the Senior Product Manager for
Photoshop at Adobe.

Gosh!  Apple has roughly 50% of the market despite no built-in card
reader.  Gosh, how high would their market share go if they were to
build one in?  66%?  98%?  :-)

I've have ALWAYS said the Mac is good for two things. Cropping photos,
and downloading MP3's. Sure, other than that a Mac is a useless toy
and banished from the enterprise. We have no arugment here. The 50%
that use a Mac to edit photos are using iPhoto. The 50% that use
Windows are doing high end, time consuming post processing. Once the
real work is done, it's sent off to the Mac for cropping.
