Oops, I guess not. Macs don't come with integral memory card slots.
You have to buy an extra piece of Apple gear for that.
Actually Apple doesn't sell gear for that, you have to go to a 3rd party.

Wow, a memory card reader. A backbreaking $6 expense.

If you are somewhere and need to transfers photos then and there, you won't be able to do it with $6. You won't be able to do it at all as there is no media reader.
