Yeah, and good riddance.

That was uncalled for.

Not really.

Shame on you, Mayor. I expected better from you.

If you expected me to suddenly start singing the praises of a man that
I've thought little of for years just because he died then I guess you
didn't expect right.

Not expecting you to spit on a man's grave isn't the same thing as expecting
you to sing his praises.

George Carlin rode on his 'Seven Dirty Words' bit for most
of his career.

Do you really believe he based 21 albums, and 3 books, all best selling,
on
just that?

How much have you heard about him in the mainstream that wasn't on
that routine?

Lots. His comparison of Football and Baseball comes to mind easily.

I'm not saying he didn't have fans. But without that
routine and a radio station's decision to play it unedited Gerge
Carlin would have been just another comic. Without that routine his
death might have made his local paper but not much else.

All I can do is repeat that his career wasn't based on so little.

While he did have the occassional funny bit, most of
his act was simply spewing hate for Christians, America, middle class
people...or anybody else that wasn't a dope-smoking piece of human
debris that thought the 1960's were some sort of Golden Era.

Ah, I think I see the problem. He hit you were you live.

If by 'hit' you mean made valid points that I didn't like you'd be
wrong. Now if by 'hit' you mean spewed an almost limitless amount of
ignorance and hate at things that I stand for then you'd be correct.

Whether or not his points were valid is irrelevant. "Hit you were you
live" means he was critical of things that are important to you, or that
contradict what you believe to be true.

While I'll not celebrate his death,

It seems like you just did.

Hardly. I would have much rather he'd given up on the hate and
ignorance and done something meaningful than die. But that was his
choice, not mine.

I see a good deal of hate in your replies. I don't think you gave a rat's
ass about him. I think you wanted him to shut up making fun of your
cherished beliefs.

it did nothing more than silence a
bitter, hateful man.

If they burn all the recorded works he left behind.

But those works are not the man and nothing new will ever come from
him again.

But he has not been silenced. If anything, he may become more popular!
