Psystar taunts Apple with Xserve clone

Aggressively staking its claim as the lone company outside of Apple
selling
Mac OS X systems, Psystar on Thursday has unveiled a pair of Xserve-like
rackmount computers unofficially based on Apple's Mac OS X Leopard Server.

That's pretty remarkable. The picture suggests that this one comes
without motherboard, interface cards, or hard drives. The 2U version has
a floppy drive. I can't imagine what a floppy drive would be good for; I
thought those were obsolete. I'd use a USB thumb drive or an external
FireWire drive instead.

Are you on drugs, Wolf?

Typical stupid Nashton response: You recognize a fairly strong
counter-argument. Unable to rebut it properly, you invent some
clever-clever retort which you believe will devastate your debating
opponent.

So. What part of my statement made you think I was hallucinating? The
part where I said there's no motherboard in that server chassis? Unlike
you, I've seen the insides of rack-mountable servers (Mac Xserve,
various Dells, some Compaq Proliants, and a handful of non-name ones)
and unlike you, I know what one looks like when its motherboard is
installed.

Or maybe it was my question about what a floppy drive would be good for.
No version of OS X is small enough to boot a server from one, and a
floppy is just too limiting to do a file transfer. A thumb drive is nice
and small, so it's convenient, but if you need to move a lot of data
quickly but not over the net, a FireWire drive is better.

Speaking of which, the Pystar doesn't appear to offer a Firewire
interface. The next question I'd have is whether it supports the OS X
Server Monitor application. If I want to run OS X server, then I wan to
run it on hardware I can monitor properly.
